Chennai: Anna University is set to allow direct admissions to fill vacant seats in M.E. and M.Tech. courses across Tamil Nadu for the current academic year.

Admissions to postgraduate engineering programmes in Anna University's campus colleges, zonal colleges, government and government-aided institutions, and Annamalai University are made based on ranks from the Tamil Nadu government's CEETA entrance examination and the GATE scores conducted by central institutions.

The online counselling process was recently completed. Of the 2,000 seats available, about 60 per cent have been filled. The remaining 40 per cent will now be offered through direct admissions at the respective colleges, officials from the Higher Education Department said.

A formal announcement on the direct admission process is expected shortly, they added.
