Sriperumbudur: The Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), an institute under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, on Friday inaugurated a 15-day Induction Training Programme for District Youth Officers and Assistant Directors of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat).

Organised by the Centre for Training, Orientation & Capacity Building, the programme will run from October 3 to 17 at RGNIYD, Sriperumbudur.

Delivering the inaugural address virtually, Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, IAS, Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, underlined the Ministry's commitment to youth empowerment. Shri Nitesh Kumar Mishra, ICAS, CEO of MY Bharat and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, delivered the presidential address, stressing the role of youth officers in fostering inclusive community development.

The event also saw the participation of Shri Subrata Hazra, Director, RGNIYD and Deputy Secretary to the Government of India, who joined virtually. Earlier, Dr. P. David Paul, Training Officer, delivered the welcome address.

The programme seeks to enhance operational competence, leadership, and administrative skills among youth officers through thematic sessions on policy orientation, life skills, community engagement, financial management, and digital outreach.
