Chennai: Eligible private candidates may apply for the March/April 2026 public examinations for Class X, Higher Secondary First Year (Arrear) and Higher Secondary Second Year, said the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu.

According to an official press release, private candidates can apply only through online registration at the district-wise Government Examinations Service Centres by visiting them in person. The registration window will be open from December 22, 2025, to January 7, 2026, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., excluding Sundays and government holidays.

The DGE said details regarding the location of district-wise Government Examinations Service Centres, eligibility conditions and instructions for private candidates are available on the official website, www.dge.tn.gov.in
. The information can also be obtained from all Chief Educational Offices, concerned District Educational Offices and Assistant Director of Government Examinations offices.

Candidates have been advised to carry a copy of their Aadhaar card and two passport-size photographs while submitting their applications at the service centres.

The examination timetable for the March/April 2026 Class X, Higher Secondary First Year (Arrear) and Second Year public examinations will also be published on the DGE website, the release said.
