Coimbatore: In an effort to enhance elementary education, 625 primary schools in Coimbatore district are slated to undergo a technological transformation where currently, elementary subjects rely on Numeracy and Writing syllabi.Due to the absence of adequate technical infrastructure, teachers have been using their personal mobile phones to facilitate various activities such as online exams conducted every two weeks, monthly assessments and video presentations. However, teachers have voiced concerns about the practical challenges of using personal phones for learning, teaching, and examination purposes.Responding to these challenges, authorities have announced plans to establish high-tech labs for middle schools and introduce smart classrooms for primary education.625 primary institutions across Coimbatore district have been shortlisted to go through this overhaul. Teachers welcome the initiative, expecting implementation in time for the next academic year.Secondary educators highlight the effectiveness of visual teaching methods in aiding elementary students' comprehension. Video content has been integrated into the Tamil Nadu Teacher Platform app to support this approach.Educators emphasize that displaying content on smart boards instead of mobile phone screens would facilitate simultaneous viewing for all students, urging swift implementation of the initiative.
