Roorkee: IIT Roorkee celebrated its 24th Convocation, recognizing 2,513 graduates across various disciplines.

This year's graduating class included 1,277 undergraduates, 794 postgraduates, and 442 Ph.D. candidates.

Notably, the percentage of female graduates increased to 23.16%, reflecting the institute's commitment to gender diversity.

Achintya Nath received the President's Gold Medal for the highest CGPA among UG students, while Parth Sarthi Mishra earned the Director's Gold Medal for all-round performance.

The ceremony featured Chief Guest Ms. Debjani Ghosh, President of NASSCOM, and was presided over by Shri BVR Mohan Reddy, Chairperson of the Board of Governors. Prof. K.K. Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, presented the annual report, highlighting the institute's achievements, including 148 patents, a rise in QS World Rankings, and several prestigious awards.

The report also noted significant developments such as the inauguration of the Micron Semiconductor Lab and the establishment of the Centre of Excellence on AARTI.

Prof. Pant praised the year's impactful events, which promoted innovation, sustainability, and industry-academia collaboration.

Ms. Ghosh encouraged graduates to embrace the opportunities and challenges of their era, advocating for purpose-driven, ethical, and bold endeavors.

The Convocation underscored IIT Roorkee's ongoing commitment to excellence in education, research, and societal contributions, as graduates step into a world full of potential and responsibility.
