Mandi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has launched a pioneering five-year Integrated MBA programme, the first of its kind among IITs.

This programme, known as the IMBA (BBA Analytics (Honours) and MBA DS & AI), is offered by the School of Management.

The IMBA aims to combine management expertise with advanced skills in analytics, data science, mathematics, and statistics, preparing future business leaders with a strong grasp of technology and cross-functional management.

The curriculum also includes courses in Humanities, Communication, and the Indian Knowledge System for holistic development.

Professor Laxmidhar Behera, Director of IIT Mandi, highlighted the rising demand for business leaders proficient in data science and AI. He emphasized the programme's focus on equipping students with these essential skills.

The IMBA's curriculum is designed to foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. It includes foundational courses in management, analytics, mathematics, statistics, communication, and personality development.

Professor Aniruddha Chakraborty, Dean Academics at IIT Mandi, stated that the IMBA programme aims to offer a comprehensive and transformative educational experience, aligning with the New Education Policy by providing flexible exit options after three or four years.

Graduates of the five-year programme will receive two degrees: BBA Analytics (Honors) and MBA DS&AI.

The programme includes industry internships, exposure to diverse business environments, and access to the incubation centre for aspiring entrepreneurs, offering a transformative journey for students entering management straight after 10+2.
