About the Course
Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) equips students to design, develop, and innovate in electronic systems and information communication technologies.
Undergraduate Programme
The four-year B.E./B.Tech. course covers a wide range of technologies, including electronic devices, communication systems, sound and light transmission, embedded systems, VLSI, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
Eligibility
Students who have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible. Admission to IITs, NITs, and IIITs is through JEE.Admission to Tamil Nadu institutions is via TNEA counselling based on Class 12 scores. Some universities conduct their own entrance examinations.
Career Prospects
Graduates find opportunities in electronics, telecommunications, embedded systems, software development, and automation. Top recruiters include government organizations and leading companies such as ISRO, BHEL, and DRDO.
Postgraduate Programme
The two-year M.E./M.Tech. programme provides advanced training in areas such as VLSI, wireless communication, signal processing, nanoelectronics, and robotics.
Eligibility
A B.E./B.Tech. in ECE or equivalent is required. Admission is through GATE, TANCET, or university-level entrance exams.
Career Prospects
Postgraduates can pursue roles in research institutes, government and private companies, or academia as professors and senior engineers.
