'Avionics' is the study of the science and technology behind the development and use of electronic systems and instruments in aircraft. The term is a blend of "aviation" and "electronics."

Courses
Avionics (Aviation + Electronics) is a comprehensive course focused on the maintenance, installation, and design of electronic and computer systems in aircraft and spacecraft. It involves the use of modern technologies to ensure efficient functioning of these systems.

B.Tech., - Avionics
This is a 4-year undergraduate engineering program. The course includes subjects such as the fundamentals of aircraft systems, electronic and computer systems used in the aviation industry, and the development of tools and equipment for computerized control.

It covers areas like computer systems, control units, and mechanisms in the pilot's cockpit. Students learn about designing new machines, equipment, and computer systems, as well as information technology, computer upgrades, electrical and electronics, digital electronics, and communication systems.

B.Sc., - Avionics
This is a 3-year undergraduate science program. It includes topics such as Civil Aviation, Engineering Diagrams, Electronic Systems and Devices, Fundamentals of Aircraft and Aircraft Equipment, Digital Techniques, Aircraft Electrical Systems, Aircraft Instrument Systems, Aircraft Radio Communication, and Aircraft Fuel Systems.

After graduation, students can pursue higher education such as M.Tech., M.Sc., Ph.D., and other advanced degrees.

Job Opportunities
Graduates can find employment in aviation-related organizations such as the Airports Authority of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Indian Air Force, and various Public Sector Undertakings. Job roles include Development Engineer, Design Engineer, Sensor Engineer, Avionics Engineer, etc. Teaching positions in educational institutions are also available.
